Our Philosophy

 Julie Carbaugh Nelson brings a unique blend of warmth, medical knowledge, and entrepreneurial spirit to Jul Hearing Aid Solutions. Raised on a dairy farm in the charming Village of Waterside in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Julie’s strong work ethic and commitment to helping others were instilled early in life.

She is a proud graduate of Northern Bedford High School and holds both a bachelor’s degree (with a major and minor) from Saint Francis University as well as an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Before entering the field of hearing healthcare, Julie gained extensive experience in the medical and counseling worlds—first as a phlebotomist at Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring, then in pharmaceutical sales, and later as an educational counselor with Great West Financial Services.

Driven by a passion to make a deeper impact, Julie combined her healthcare experience and business acumen to pursue a more personal path of service. In 2014, she became a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist through the Pennsylvania Department of Health, empowering her to provide comprehensive hearing evaluations and fit advanced hearing technology with skill and empathy.

That same year, she opened her first Jul Hearing Aid Solutions office in Martinsburg—a humble beginning that soon grew into three thriving locations across Martinsburg, Mount Joy, and Newport. Julie remains hands-on in her practice, rotating between each location weekly to ensure every client receives consistent, compassionate care.

Outside the office, Julie finds joy in music and creativity. She frequently performs piano and violin duets with her dear friend Rebecca, and has had the honor of playing at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence for special events. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling, camping at Black Moshannon State Park, and making memories with her husband, two adult children, and beloved circle of family and friends.

 Nikki was raised in Schuylkill County, PA before moving to Lititz and raising her 2 children, Preston and Ella.  She loves music, swinging on porch swings, cooking, swimming, exercising and Steelers Football.

She now resides in Manheim with her husband Tyler, Ella and her dog Banksy. On weekends she has fun fixing up their 120 year old home and tackling DIY projects with her husband.

Nikki currently works in the Mount Joy office and sometimes travels with Julie to the Newport office.  You will often hear her friendly and gregarious personality on the phone when you call the office. She has been apprenticing with Julie since January 2023, and then became a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist in October 2023.
