Chromesthesia

 Hearing colors is a thing! I bet you didn’t know that some people experience what’s called Chromesthesia. According to the webpageAudicus, “A case study revealed that a person with chromesthesia will have a ‘visual color experience as well as an auditory sensation’ when they hear a certain tone. In other words, the person will see sound as color.”¹

According to Wikipedia, “Chromesthesia or sound-to-color synesthesia is atype of synesthesia in which sound involuntarily evokes an experience of color, shape, and movement. Individuals with sound-color synesthesia are consciously aware of their synesthetic color associations/perceptions in daily life.”² However, ^“Chromesthesia is relatively rare, occurring in only about 1 in 3,000 individuals.”³  

Chromesthesia would probably be a wild psychedelic experience, at first. It might seem exciting, but it might also be annoying when in overdrive or all the time. Still, it would be a novel to hear colors. Talking with someone with such a condition would be interesting to say the least.
